It was 2 weeks ago and it was AMAZEBALLS (I know that’s not a word, and it’s really not very lady-like, but it was better than amazing…..it was AMAZEBALLS). I kept the plan a surprise from Shane (although it killed me) until the day of and then handed him this piece of paper:
Although somewhat unknown, Robin Thicke is an artist that Shane and I absolutely LOVE. His voice is smooth, he writes his own music and his slow jams are untouchable. Needless to say, we were both very excited for the concert. And added surprise, I also planned for us to stay over night at the Emerald Queen Casino where Robin was performing (double amazeballs).
We packed our bags and dropped the kids off with my parents. Driving South on I-5 with the windows down and Robin Thicke playing loudly out of the iPod, we felt 25 again. We arrived at the hotel, grabbed a drink and then got ready for dinner. We decided to eat at the Matador in downtown Tacoma (The Habanera Prawns were HOT!). Got back to the hotel, changed clothes and hopped on the shuttle to the Emerald Queen Showroom. The concert started within minutes of arriving and our seats were pretty darn good.
I have to say, although some would turn their noses up at the venue – I really enjoyed the intimate atmosphere of the Emerald Queen. It was small, yes, but I loved it. I loved that every single person there was there to enjoy Robin Thicke, his music and the show. They were his devoted fans, and Shane and I were beaming with excitement (or maybe it was the 4 shots I took before the show started).
Okay, enough with the talking, here are the photos.
What a lucky girl I am. We are so blessed to have each other.
