Pumpkin Patch Fun!

I love fall! It’s my favorite season of them all. I love all the colors, the leaves falling, the boots, the soups, the hot drinks, football games, scarves……you name it, I love it (even the rain!) I am a true Seattlitte!  I wish I could have  been married in the fall, and if it were up to me, my children would have been born in the fall (workin’ on that for baby #3 someday!).

One of my favorite traditions is going to the Pumpkin Patch. We started this tradition when Jackson was just 3 months old and have gone back every year.  For 2012, my kids were lucky enough to go to 3 Pumpkin Patch excursions – and they loved every single minute off all 3.

First Visit:  The Farm at Swan's Trail  with Grandma & Grandpa Sogn.

Malia – 18 months

Pumpkin Patch (43) I am so glad I waited to blog about Malia’s 18 month stats.  It seems like from the moment she turned 18 months old, everything about her exploded (in a good way, of course). Her concept of understanding, her verbal communication, how she moves physically, her sass and her need to constantly read books.  She is quite the little person now and her personality is coming out so much every single day.  It’s becoming quite clear to me that she is no longer a baby, but she will never stop  snuggling with me!

Stats:
Weight: 26 lbs (80th percentile)
Height: 34 inches (95th percentile)

Latest and greatest:
*Eating at the big kid table.
*Drinking whole milk out of a sippy cup.
*Going to daycare at the same place Jackson goes to.
*Wearing 18-24 month clothes.
*Wearing size 4 (almost 5) diapers.
*Loves to eat, loves it. Favorites are chips & salsa, yogurt, stew, oatmeal and craisins.
*Down to one nap a day, then down at 7:30 and up at 6:30. She sometimes wakes up still, but nothing a few snuggles can’t fix.
*Words – there are so many!!! Mommy, Mama, Daddy, Sissy, Jax, Ball, Auntie, Bye, Hi, Baby, Nana, Papa, Grandpa, Grandma, Doggy, Cujo, Yes, No, Bite, Please, Thank you……I could go on and on.
*Wakes up everyday with a rats nest.
*Bye Bye Binkie – kicked that thing at 18 months!
*Her favorite thing to say (thanks Jackson!!!) is: Idontwanto.
*Has serious dance fever, play the music and she won’t stop shakin’ her bootie.
*Would rather be naked. All the time.
*Favorite book is “I love you stinky face”.
*Loves to run away from me, especially in public.
*Adores babies, like almost in a creepy way. She won’t stop screaming “Baby!” and kissing them.

It’s so strange to be able to give her all my attention. When Jackson was this age, I was 6 months pregnant. It’s nice to be able to chase after her and read her stories on my lap.

This girl is one of the best things I have ever created.

Meet Loea

Long overdue, but she’ll forgive me one day. We welcomed a new family member to the Makanani Tribe: Loea Makanani Manahan. She was 4 days late, but worth the wait.  Welcomed by Leina, Lincoln and amazing big sister, La’akea; she fits right into our crazy family.

Born September 1st at 12:57am, weighing 7lbs 6oz and 19.5 inches long, with an incredible head of hair. This girl is so precious, I can’t wait to hold her every time I see her. We are all just in awe of this precious baby.
