A day of celebration

Yesterday was our official anniversary. 2 years ago, on this day, Shane and I were married. It was one of the most magical days of my life, and one that I will never forget.  Since we spent quite a bit of time & money celebrating over the weekend – we decided to keep yesterday pretty low key; pizza, cupcakes and bath time (for Jackson, of course).

However, we felt the need to break out the bottle of Dom Perignon (given to us almost 2 years ago by our awesome real estate agent). Why? Well, not only was yesterday our anniversary, but yesterday was the first day on the job for Mr. Shane Makanani. Yep! That’s right, Shane was officially hired on as a full-time employee at Adobe. It’s a long story of how it all happened (overnight, pretty much) but we are VERY excited and now realize that good things DO happen for those who wait.  Shane has been on contract with Adobe for over a year which means he had no benefits, no sick time, no vacation and no guarantee. Although the contract job paid the bills – it was very stressful at times not knowing if Shane would be told his contract was over.  But the good news is that we don’t have to worry about that anymore – he’s full time and working his butt off for our family. I could not be more proud of my husband!!!

So after Shane worked a 10 hour day (doing both his old & new job), we ordered some pizza and watched our wedding video. Again, like last year, I cried my eyes out and Shane and I were just in awe of how perfect our day was.  Then it was bath time for Jackson (my next post will have all of the pictures).  Once Jackson went to bed, we opened up the bottle of Dom and ate our Trophy cupcake in the flavor of our wedding cake: white cake with coconut buttercream frosting. Ummmmmmmm Yummmmmm!
